Charming Bungalow in Old NE St. Pete

A minimalist lighting plan adds subtle elegance to this small historic home in Old Northeast, St. Pete
Consultation/Design/Installation

How we approached the project

The client had two objectives:

1. Illuminate the steps and pathway for his elderly parents who visited often. (A near accident had made this a priority.)

2. He wanted the lighting to compliment the small scale of the home and property and not "overdo it," considering proximity of neighbors and character of neighborhood.

What did we do

Using a minimalist low-voltage lighting plan consisting of only 8 lights, we created a balanced nighttime scene that subtly enhanced the curb appeal of this charming historic bungalow home. Soft uplighting on either side of the front door helps frame the entrance and highlight the primary architectural feature of the home. The two mature trees in the yard, an oak and palm, are given slightly stronger lighting to visually anchor the scene. Soft path lighting increases visibility and safety while drawing the eye towards the entrance.

Summing Up

Landscape lighting can be just as transformative on small homes as it can on larger ones. It's all about how you design the scene. Overall, we kept things minimal and subtle here and the effect is undeniably compelling.

Mediterranean Elegance in Lutz

Where timeless architecture meets atmospheric lighting design. This Lutz estate already had the stature—our job was to elevate its presence after dark. The goal: create a warm, layered lighting design that enhanced the architecture, framed the landscape, and invited evening enjoyment from every angle.
